CapeTown day 2

Being on what feels the first trip this year (sorry, Greece, you just didn’t do it for us), we planned to enjoy every day to the maximum. First full Cape Town day: morning run, walking tour, high tea at the Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel, back to V&A Waterfront and drinks at the hotel. No dolphins in the evening, just floating kelp. The free walking tour (tips only) is something we can highly recommend. We spent about 90min with our very knowledge guide on the Apartheid to Freedom tour, learning a lot about the apartheid laws and how they impacted the people. We visited the place Nelson Mandel gave his first speech as a free man and heard about the long road it took to freedom.

Afterwards we walked to the super fancy Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel for a high tea overlooking their garden. Very posh, with a tea sommelier, cakes, scones and sandwiches stacked in tiers and live piano music. With our leftovers packed up for later, we went to the V&A Waterfront to book a helicopter ride for the next morning. We got a great deal, the price for 2 people but with a private tour, the best option for Dorin to get exactly the picture he has in his mind.
