(Mimic) Octopus

in these pictures one octopus is actually an impostor (mimic octopus), can you figure it out which one is it?

the bigger cousins of the hairy ones they can get as big as 38cm. the first one was around 30cm, really impressive to be honest and if you have a chance to see them hunting you’ll be amazed to see how extremely fast they are (as they move rather slow)

my absolute favourites and the main reason i wanted to go to Sulawesi. Without a guide is almost impossible to distinguish them from a ball of algae. Frogfishes do not swim in the conventional way; instead, they “walk” on their pectoral fins or use ‘jet propulsion’

ok, i haven’t posted again in awhile, have been busy finalising all the Indonesia and Namibia’s pictures. with a length of max 2cm and incredible camouflage makes them very difficult to spot, reason for which they have been just recently discovered. Mantis shrimp *

really cute tiny creature, extremely shy and so colorful. after i went so close to it to get these macros was i told that very often they hit the camera dome so strong with their claws that they are responsible for a lot of camera floods…

believe it or not is the same one in all pictures, all happening within 4-5 seconds
