CapeTown
Back in Cape Town we stayed again at the Radisson Waterfront Hotel, as it just has such a good location. The remainder of our days we spent running at Sea Point, going for a walk and a picknick to the beautiful Kirstenbosch botanical gardens with its treetop walkway, the boomslang, meeting a friend of Dorin’s from his time in Sri Lanka that now lives with her family in Camps Bay and hanging out at the waterfront, watching the seals.
One morning, we rented road bikes to ride along the coast line to Hout Bay. And we kept trying to get to Robben Island. But after first having the tour cancelled for weather conditions, they now shut down until January because of the COVID measures. Next time then. For New Year’s, we had a steak dinner at the Hussar Grill starting at 6.30pm to make sure we make it back to the hotel before curfew. And then fell asleep way before midnight. This most have been the most silent New Year’s ever, no firework, no people talking on the road, nothing at all.
